About the Event
Gears of War: E-Day tells the origin story of Emergence Day, the moment the Locust Horde erupts from beneath Sera and launches its assault on humanity. The campaign follows Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago during the first days of the invasion.
Emergence Day
The story takes place fourteen years before the original Gears of War and follows Marcus and Dom as young soldiers facing the Locust threat for the first time. The game returns to a darker tone focused on the horror of the invasion.
Campaign and co-op
The campaign can be played solo, in two-player split-screen co-op, or online with up to four players. The game also features Horde Siege and competitive multiplayer modes.
Release
Gears of War: E-Day launches on October 6, 2026 for Xbox Series X/S and PC, including Steam. It will also be available day one through Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
