Hela: of Mice & Magic is an open-world adventure seen from the perspective of a small mouse who becomes the familiar of an ailing witch. Other platforms may use their own distribution or regional availability systems, but the worldwide release date announced by Windup Games and Knights Peak is December 1.

An adventure from a mouse's perspective

The story follows a small mouse who serves as the familiar of a kind witch who has cared for the forest and its creatures for years. When the witch becomes ill and the world begins to fall out of balance, the protagonist sets out to help her and the people living in the region. The game uses this tiny perspective to turn everyday objects, paths and natural elements into parts of a much larger adventure.

Exploration, potions and puzzles

Hela's world is designed for free exploration across landscapes inspired by Scandinavian nature. Players can gather resources, brew potions and discover new ways to move through and interact with the environment. The magical Froggy backpack serves as both a tool and a travel companion, allowing the player to leap, swing, glide, gather resources and reach hidden areas. Puzzles make use of both the character's abilities and the surrounding environment.

Co-op for sharing the journey

The adventure can be played entirely solo, but it is also designed to be enjoyed with others. Local co-op supports split-screen play, while online multiplayer supports up to four players. When playing alone, the Shade System allows the player to create magical copies of the character to help solve certain puzzles and interact with the world. This approach lets the experience work equally well as a solo adventure or as a shared journey with friends.
