Date and time

The 166th Hospices de Beaune Wine Auction will take place on Sunday, November 15, 2026. The main sale will begin at 2:30 PM local time in Beaune, under the Halles de Beaune. The date follows the traditional third Sunday of November associated with this historic auction.

The Hospices auction

The sale features wines produced from vineyards belonging to the Hospices de Beaune estate. The wines are traditionally presented in 228-litre barrels, and the auction attracts buyers and professionals from many countries. Sotheby's will again organize the 2026 sale.

Charitable purpose

The charitable character of the Vente des Vins remains an essential part of the event. Proceeds help the Hospices Civils de Beaune maintain and preserve its historic heritage and fund hospital projects. In 2026, these funds also contribute to projects aimed at modernizing the institution's facilities.

The Pièce de Charité

As part of the event's charitable tradition, a Pièce de Charité will be offered during the 166th edition to raise funds for one or more charitable organizations. This special wine lot forms part of the auction program and continues the philanthropic tradition associated with the Hospices de Beaune.
