METRO 2039 is a new entry in 4A Games’ series set in the post-apocalyptic ruins of Moscow. The story follows The Stranger, a former Spartan soldier who returns to the surface and faces a devastated environment, radiation and deadly threats while trying to survive outside the tunnels.

About the Event
METRO 2039 takes the series to a post-apocalyptic Moscow where the surface is as dangerous as the Metro tunnels. The protagonist, known as The Stranger, leaves the underground and must cross the ruined city while managing radiation, equipment and the resources needed to survive.
The Stranger
The protagonist is a former Spartan soldier who had left the Metro behind. His return to the surface confronts him with a violent past and an environment where every decision can affect his survival.
Moscow’s Surface
The adventure takes place among destroyed buildings, radiation and dangerous areas of a Moscow devastated by nuclear war. The Stranger is searching for a Novoreich fortress located inside a dam while exploring the ruins.
Technology and Release
METRO 2039 is built on an updated version of the 4A Engine and was designed from the ground up around ray tracing. The game launches February 4, 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
